Frankie Nash Presents: Fun With Friends May

We're sorry for the slight delay on this, June's wonderful and already oppressive heat snuck up on us and we've been doing the best we can at soaking up as much of that early summer sun as we can. Recapping the final month of spring, Frankie's latest FWF installment is just a taste of good times to come now that the warm months are here to stay. We will check back with Frankie come July, cheers!

Frankie Nash in "Gem"

Given all his time spent playing iphone videographer for our website, it's almost easy to forget that Frankie Nash spends a decent amount of time on the other side of the camera lens. He's got a plethora of video parts under his belt already and he hasn't showed any signs of slowing down anytime soon. Tim Savage was kind of enough to allow us to host Frankie's part from his recent video "Gem", which you should buy, because the video is good. To do this, go to this link for the hardcopy, or this link for the download. Enjoy :)

Frankie Nash Presents: Fun With Friends April

As the old saying goes, April showers bring May showers.....what's that??? That's not how the saying goes at all? It's supposed to be nice out? Sun? Sun who???

Honestly man, if it weren't for Frankie's tireless iPhone edit output, I would have easily thrown myself out the god damn window by now. Thankfully, a new month is here, which also means a new FWF. Check out the April edit now and helplessly wonder when you'll maybe be able to skate for even a little bit next. Spoiler alert: it could be weeks from now.

Fattrax Presents: Sultans of Salt

The Holyoke Bowl Boys are back and this time they're out in the streets! Well, they're out on the streets most of the time. Fattrax's newest video managed to squeeze a special skate section in the middle of it, filmed by our chillest friend Nolan Fonda (@nolan_likes_chilling) and edited by Greg Rooke (instagram handle, unknown). Next time you see Nolan in town, be sure to buy him a beer, or better yet a water, because I'm sure by the time you see him he's had plenty of beer and I'm gonna have to babysit his ass. Cheers, dudes!

Frankie Nash Presents: Fun With Friends March

I honestly don't know how he does it at this point. Not that this winter has been particularly bad or anything, but the fact that Frank, and more importantly, our friends have been able to put enough footage together for another edit is pretty insane.

Enjoy Frankie's March installment of Fun With Friends...Now to get through this awful fucking stretch of weather. Lessgetit boys!

The Phil Michael McCormick Lost Part

Formerly @yoomylifeiscrazy and currently residing @sweetdaddysledgehammer, Phil McCormick is one of my favorite skateboarders and more importantly, one of my favorite humans. Phil may be one of the rarest "on camera" skateboarders, having the rare ability to show up to a spot and do whatever he wants on his skateboard in a matter of tries. And you would think after watching him drink 14 beers that this would deter him from something like this the next day, but you would be sorely mistaken. Nolan Fonda, a dear friend and associate of the Holyoke Bowl, has sent us four minutes of unseen Phil McCormick footage. Split between his last year in Masschusetts and his first year in San Francisco, the Phil part is representative of what skating with him is actually like: an impromptu switch boneless mid line, several tricks at one spot, flatground pop shove it, etc. We hope you enjoy this part as much as we did. Cheers, Philly!

Frankie Nash Presents: Fun With Friends January

January has come and gone and with that, another Fun With Friends has emerged. This being the harshest month of the winter thus far, you'll notice a fair amount of POP Allston usage, as well as a high percentage of dancing/drinking footage post Awards (full recap coming soon, we promise). With some luck, we'll continue the end-of-the-edit trend of skating outdoors in just a t-shirt, keep your fingers crossed people, we only have one month to go until spring. And that is just about the next time we'll be hearing from Frankie, so we'll see you then! Cheers, ya'll.

Frankie Nash Presents: Fun With Friends December

Happy New Year, everyone! We're sorry for the lack of updates, SML HQ has been tirelessly planning our event, which I'm sure you're all attending this Saturday, January 9th, 7-9 pm at Wonderbar...anyway, Frankie has blessed our very cold start to the new year with this heart warming recap of December. Lots of familiar faces and old friends back for the holidays as well as a cameo from our new favorite friend, Stiffler's Six Foot Bong! So please, let us all revisit the last month and as always, Frankie will check back in in February. Cheers!

Frankie Nash Presents: Fun With Friends November

Do I even have to write anything up for these anymore? It's now December, which means Frankie's monthly recap for November is up and running. Parties, dancing, skating, and even some cameos from the Vans team. Frankie's next FWF premieres NEXT YEAR. See ya'll then. Cheers.

Suffer Sundays at Little Scobie Skatepark

"Well, Sundays can go one of two ways: Riding high from a previous night of good times and moderation or feeling like you got hit by a bus driven by the New England Patriots (Brady really is the G.O.A.T guys...). Safe to say some of the boys weren't feeling completely 100% on this particular afternoon, most likely due to a bunch of cheap beer and bad decisions. We also forgot an extra camera battery, honestly, we should have just went to the bar instead. Here's our quick session at the Little Scobie park in Roxbury. Hope your weekend isn't as suffer as ours. Happy Friday."

Frankie Nash Presents: Fun With Friends October

A new month means a new FWF. Our staff iphone videographer, Frankie Nash, has put together yet another 'imasterpiece', capturing the lives and drinking habits of our good friends. I want to give a special shout out to SMLTalk's 2014 SOTY, Jeff Burke, for single handedly shutting the Little Scobie manual pad down because as they say, once a SOTY, always a SOTY. Much sooner rather than much later, we'll have Frankie's previous installments filed on our video page, they're still hiding in our archives (sorry). Cheers everybody, FWF will return in December.

Caleb Kaiser - Welcome to Corner Store Video

I think this is the first time we've ever had an #exclusive "Welcome to the Team" part for the site, so to our friends over at the Corner Store Skate Co. we thank you dearly. I only wish we could have thought of a cute Thrasher-esque title for this part, like Caleb Kaiser's 'Kaiser of Boston' Part or Hot Caleb's 'Gnar Sandwich on a Kaiser Roll' Part (sorry for both of those, they were the only two forms of 'kaiser' I could think of - Thrasher, I could still do your fuckin' job). Whatever you want to call it, Caleb's been ruling these parts for a while and his addition to Corner Store is well deserved. He's also a really nice guy, which if you've ever talked to him for more than 30 seconds you probably already gathered. Caleb, you're killing it. Cheers, dude.

Dad Clothing x SMLTalk Present: The Six Footers and Good Ones Tour

If you were alive in the Northeast last week you may have noticed that the temperature change was, per usual, quite dramatic. From 70 degrees to mid-30's in the matter of 48 hours, I don't think we need to deny whats coming. An inconvenient truth, if you will. Thanks to the internet however, we can still pretend it's warm, and bathe in the faux rays of our computer screens. Much of the illustrious Dad Clothing crew took a summer trip down to Philadelphia and has here the official tour video documenting the trip. I'll let our Staff HD Videographer, Ryan Stiffler, tell the story:

"Ah, the tour video. Who hasn’t seen one they genuinely don’t like? From Harsh Euro Barge, to Hot Chocolate, and all of the KOTR offerings, there is always a special feeling associated with a group of friends hitting the road and feeling out of their own element in a city completely foreign to them. Though this was more of a weekend trip out of town, the tour moniker is fully stamped onto this offering from Dad Clothing. We set out in late August for one last taste of summer fun, in pursuit of great spots, cold beer, and good times. Safe to say we found what we were looking for in the 'Sunshine State.' Special thanks to SMLTALK for hosting this video and the 1997 Buick LeSabre that didn't survive life post-tour, and anyone else who was involved. Enjoy!"

The Holyoke Bowl w/ Small Paul and Friends

Don't think because of our location here on the coast of Massachusetts that we care not for our skate brethern of Western Mass...quite the opposite actually. A small crew from the town of Holyoke, barely 15 minutes outside of Springfield, was able to rent out a space where they built this beautiful wooden bowl. My good friend Nolan Fonda has been capturing some of the madness that's been going on out there and sent over a little edit he made with footage from the last couple of weeks. This is just a friendly reminder that if you and your friends want to make something like this happen, you can. Be organized, be committed, and you too can have a key to your own private TF, though it's unlikely your friends will ever be as cool/rip as hard as Small Paul does.
